CyberFirst Girls’ Competition

This half-term Eltham College took part in the CyberFirst Girls’ Competition 2024, with 8 girls in Year 8 forming 2 teams to tackle the competition. An annual event by the National Cyber Security Centre, the competition strives to inspire girls who want to enhance their problem solving and technology skills through a series of increasingly difficult challenges related to cyber security.

From artificial intelligence to cryptography, the competition provided our girls with plenty of fun and engaging tasks to attempt as a team across a span of 9 days. The competition ended on Wednesday 27th November, with the teams accumulating thousands of points in total. In a rapidly evolving world where technology is progressing at an increasing rate, the competition gave our students the opportunity to nurture skills that are invaluable in today’s society.
