Philosophising Begins
Our Year 8 Scholars recently took on the role of mentors, leading an engaging philosophy session for Year 5 pupils at the Junior School. The first group of young thinkers from 5IW explored a thought-provoking question: What is a game?
Using a mix of presentations, worksheets, and lively small-group discussions, the Year 8 mentors guided their younger peers through an exciting session. Pupils quickly discovered that defining a game is far from simple! Every suggestion sparked new ideas, encouraging critical thinking and debate.
This initiative was entirely student-led. Year 8 pupils designed the resources and delivered the session with confidence and skill, their ability to engage and challenge the younger pupils was impressive.
Well done to our Year 8 Scholars for their leadership and to Year 5 for their enthusiastic participation.
