Thanks to funds raised last year by Eltham College students through a 700-mile relay and an overnight 12-hour run, the Personal Best Foundation (PBF) opened its first Community Athletics Hub in Lewisham.
Located just a short distance from school, the hub has already made a significant impact by helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds take part in athletics and reach their potential.
Motivated by the success of this partnership, Eltham College continues to support PBF and the transformational work it delivers through sport.
On Sunday 13 April, Miss Harding and Mr Willatt will take on the Paris Marathon to raise further funds for the Foundation.
Miss Harding said:“I’m full of excitement and anxiousness as the Paris marathon approaches. Training has been challenging but am hoping it will all come together on the day. Running for Personal Best Foundation gives me a sense of purpose and is keeping me motivated. I’m mostly looking forward to running around the iconic sights and carb loading on all of the French delicacies!”
It is great to be returning to Paris nearly 12 months after the start of our relationship with PBF. Having seen such positive impact locally in a short space of time, we are excited to help raise further funds and extend this support to more communities.
We would be delighted if you would consider making a contribution, however small, to support the vital work that PBF continues to deliver. Please follow this link to donate.
