A Meaningful Exchange: Mr Paul Ssematimba’s Visit to Eltham
Last week, Eltham College was honoured to welcome Mr Paul Ssematimba, Headmaster of Buikwe Secondary School in Uganda, a school visited by Eltham students through our work with the charity International Needs UK. This marked his first trip outside Uganda.
During his visit, Mr Ssematimba explored London’s landmarks, including Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, as well as visiting the seaside. At Eltham College, he engaged with staff and students, offering valuable insights into education at Buikwe Secondary School, sparking discussions around mutual learning and future collaboration.
As his week with us drew to an end, Mr Ssematimba joined in conversation with our Head Girl and Head Boy, Erin and Elliot, where they discussed the differences and similarities between school life in Uganda and the UK, comparing daily routines, classroom environments, and student experiences.
Mr Ssematimba’s visit strengthens the relationship between our schools, and we look forward to further collaboration. We thank him for his time and insights.
