Year 7 Students Sew Dresses for Girls in Need

Year 7 students at Eltham College have been using their lunchtime Fashion & Textiles Club to support Dress a Girl Around the World – UK, a charity that provides handmade dresses to girls living in poverty.

The dresses, sent to countries like Gambia, Uganda, Sudan, Syria, and Cameroon, are designed with adjustable shoulder ties so they can grow with the child and last longer.

By taking part, students are learning valuable sewing skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others around the world. Well done to Bella, Sofia, Eve and Naomi (pictured here with their creations), as well as to Aine, Harriet, Uma, Mayra, Helena, and Hachi. We are incredibly proud of their compassion, creativity, and commitment to helping those in need.

Also, a special mention to the dedicated staff who help make all of this happen: Miss Howells, Mrs. Wansbury, and Miss Symons. Thank you for all that you do!
