Croissants, Coasters, and Culture: Year 6’s French Experience

Year 6 had an unforgettable week in France, starting with a visit to the Boulogne Aquarium on the way to Château du Broutel.

Their trip was packed with fun and learning — from beach games in Berck and a visit to a traditional sweet shop, to an educational and reflective battlefield tour at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial Park. A surprise encounter with the grandparents of two Year 9 boys, who recognised the school badge, added a special touch!

One of the week’s highlights was a thrilling day at Bagatelle Theme Park, where the children braved roller coasters, splashed through water rides, and enjoyed a variety of exciting attractions.

The group also enjoyed a visit to a boulangerie, where they made croissants, explored the Le Touquet market, and showed great team spirit in a tug of war. Wrapping up the trip just as it began — with another round of beach fun — Year 6 had a brilliant week full of memories to treasure!
