The Pathways Programme: Science Brings Sweet Rewards
Last Saturday’s Pathways Programme, an initiative created to support young people and their families as they explore future educational opportunities, kicked off with a focused English session, with children divided into two groups, before coming together in the afternoon for science. Splitting into smaller teams, the children were challenged to crack the code and rescue Chilly, Mr Marlow’s fictional pet penguin, who had been “kidnapped” by a villainous scientist and locked in a box. Working through a series of science puzzles—including a periodic table challenge and hands-on experiments—the children collaborated within their teams to unlock the box and free Chilly. The first group to succeed was thrilled to find not only the penguin, but a stash of sweets inside!
