An Excellent Year of Hockey in the Junior School
The U11A Boys achieved a historic first for the school, winning the London Regional Finals with a 100% winning record. The impressive quality and depth on show in this age group were further emphasised by the number of players who went on to represent the U12 squads in the Senior School at the season-ending SJWMS Tournament. Year 6 student Thomas went even further, representing the U13As at the ISHC National Plate Finals, where the team won silver.
The U11A Girls also enjoyed a successful season, developing nicely across the year and finishing 3rd in the London Regional Finals. Again, several talented players challenged themselves throughout the year by training with the Year 7s indoors and outdoors.
Our Year 5s also had their first taste of tournament hockey on their London finals day. The U10A boys dominated their London group to finish as champions, with the U10A girls securing 3rd place.
It has been brilliant to see the Junior School development within PE lessons this year. The love for the game is clear, and it has been wonderful to see the number of Junior School pupils enjoying themselves on the pitch during after-school sessions. The quality has been apparent in our friendly fixtures with other schools where we have consistently outperformed the opposition across boys and girls at A and B team level. We are excited to see how our respective teams progress going forward.
