Campus Developments: Enhancing Spaces for Learning and Community
As part of our mission to make our Family of Schools the very best they can be, we continue to invest in creating outstanding environments for every student. Over the summer, a major programme of development was carried out across our sites—projects designed not only to enhance facilities, but also to enrich the daily experience of our pupils and strengthen their learning.
On the College site, King George’s Hall has been fully refurbished, creating a brighter, more welcoming dining space for both junior and senior pupils. Redesigned counters now make mealtimes smoother and more accessible—whether for the tallest Sixth Former or the smallest new starter.
With Sixth Form places in high demand, we have invested in their facilities. By filling in the mezzanine floor, the Study Centre has been enlarged to provide more dedicated work space, while the café and social area has doubled in size, now spanning the entire ground floor.
Meanwhile, the next phase of improvements in the Science Centre has been completed. This includes upgraded laboratories, classrooms, and preparation areas, as well as a new home for Sports Science—launched this year as part of our A Level curriculum. A larger and improved Careers Hub has also been created to support students as they plan their future pathways.
In the Junior School, refurbishment of the second floor has transformed the classroom environment for Year 3. At Blackheath Prep, the biggest changes have been for our youngest pupils: the Nursery classrooms and outdoor play areas have been completely redesigned.
These developments reflect our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional spaces that inspire, support, and nurture every student across our schools.
