Middle School House Chess Delivers Drama and Strategy
The latest round of the House Competition saw Middle School pupils take to the boards for a tense and tactical House Chess tournament.
Livingstone emerged victorious, but not without fierce competition from Chalmers, who staged a late surge thanks to impressive wins from Louka (Year 10) and Jonny (Year 11). Their last-gasp victories brought Chalmers right back into contention.
Elsewhere, Rohan (Year 9) set a clever ambush that his opponent walked straight into — an excellent example of forward planning and positional play. A special shout-out goes to Ethan (Year 10) and David (Year 10), who delivered one of the standout matches of the day.
Final results:
1st – Livingstone
2nd – Chalmers
3rd – Moffatt
4th – Carey
Congratulations to all who took part!
