Midlands Hockey Tour
The Midlands Hockey tour saw fifty-four students from Years 7 and 8 head to Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester to take on three different clubs across the Midlands region. Over the three days, eighteen games were played by the six teams on the trip, securing eight victories, one draw and nine defeats against Beeston HC, Belper HC, Repton HC and Sutton Coldfield HC, as well as taking part in two lengthy training sessions at Loughborough University.
The boys and girls enjoyed evenings out bowling and at laser quest, as well as a midday tour of Aston Villa football ground. As always, we were hosted brilliantly by the four clubs at some wonderful facilities, and a great deal of individual and collective development took place on what has become a vital trip for our hockey programme.
Key plans were put in place for the remainder of the girls’ season up to Christmas, and looking ahead to the boys’ season in the Lent term.
