Sixth Form Geographers Reach National ONS Final
Huge congratulations to Sixth Form Geography Society members Iolo, Anastasia and May, who have reached the national final of the Office for National Statistics competition. Their chosen investigation project, exploring why crime differs between Southwark and Bromley, used an impressive range of quantitative data, including connectivity, population density, social inequality and unemployment. They produced a regeneration proposal with targeted, place-based policies to reduce crime within five years. This competition showcases how geographers are well equipped to use real data to tackle real-world challenges. Winners will be announced by the ONS in mid-January, so we will keep our fingers crossed for them!
