Young Voices Choir Performs at Disneyland Paris

The Young Voices choir, made up of pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8, performed at Disneyland Paris just before Christmas. After a term of preparation and a concert for parents in London, the choir travelled to Paris for the final three days of term.

On the morning of their first day in the park, the choir took part in a workshop and technical rehearsal led by Disney’s creative team, who work with choirs of all ages from around the world. The pupils picked up some great tips and were complimented on their French pronunciation. This was followed by costume fitting and a backstage tour.

Before their feet touched the ground, the choir delivered two very polished performances on stage, singing in both English and French alongside Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald to a packed audience who had been queuing for over half an hour to watch. Their reward for some amazing singing at the end of a busy term was time to explore the park that evening, culminating in watching the stunning Disney parade after dark.

After a good night’s sleep and one or two croissants for petit déjeuner, the choir had the whole of the next day to explore the rides in the park. All of the adrenaline from performing the previous day and being in such an iconic venue helped to give them that little bit of extra confidence to face even the most infamous, scary rides and coasters!
