Top Results at the National Girls Team Chess Challenge

Eltham College sent two teams to the National Girls Team (Southern Region) Chess Challenge, held at St Catherine’s Bramley. The event celebrates girls’ participation in chess and saw over 300 students competing nationwide.

Both Eltham teams recorded impressive results. In the Senior competition, Eltham College finished second out of 47 teams, competing at a high level throughout the event. The Senior team was made up of Isabelle (Year 8), Amber (Year 7), and Roxolana (Year 12).

The Junior team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing first out of 56 teams to claim the top position in their category. The team consisted of Sofiia (Year 5), Louise (Year 4), and Amelia (Year 6).

The tournament provided an opportunity for girls from across the region to compete in a highly competitive environment.
