Strengthening Mindset and Confidence in Sport

Sport Psychologist and PE Teacher Kate Parkin led two dynamic and interactive seminars focused on developing confidence in sport. Across both sessions, students explored a wide range of strategies designed to strengthen a positive mindset and build self-belief in competitive situations.

Through practical, real-life sporting scenarios, pupils examined the kinds of challenges athletes frequently encounter during matches. They then worked in groups to discuss how small shifts in perspective or self-talk could help them respond more effectively and perform at their best.

Research consistently shows that even minor adjustments to an athlete’s mindset can significantly boost confidence on the field, which in turn has a powerful impact on overall performance. Kate’s seminars offered students an invaluable toolkit of techniques to help them approach sport with resilience, clarity, and a winning attitude.
