A Spectacular Night of Musical Theatre

The Music Department recently hosted its much-anticipated Celebration of Musical Theatre concert, an event that has become one of the highlights of the academic calendar. This year, the concert was bigger and bolder than ever, with our talented vocalists and choirs taking to the stage to perform a wide variety of songs from the rich and diverse world of musical theatre.

A live on-stage band of 30 musicians accompanied a programme featuring 30 solo and choir performances, creating a dynamic and immersive experience for the audience. The band was anchored by a professional core, with Mr Bullard on keys, Mr Hall on guitar, Mr Jack on drums, and Ms Bryans on bass, while the remainder of the ensemble was made up entirely of pupils, showcasing the depth of musical talent within the school.

Behind the scenes, the concert was managed by Mr Johns, who ran audio with the support of two A-level Music Technology students, ensuring that every note was heard with clarity. Mr Curley provided full show lighting, adding drama and flair to each performance.

The Celebration of Musical Theatre continues to grow in size and popularity each year, reflecting both the dedication of pupils and staff and the enduring appeal of musical theatre itself.
