UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge 2026
On Wednesday 28th January, 190 Elthamians from Years 8–11 participated in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge, where candidates had to solve up to 25 increasingly difficult mathematical problems under extreme time pressure. The results from this fiendishly difficult competition are just in and have revealed some fantastic performances.
An astounding 141 students achieved either a bronze, silver, or gold certificate, with the Best in School award being shared by Isabelle (Year 8) and Alex (Year 9), a truly impressive accomplishment!
The top performers now look forward to sitting the follow-on Kangaroo and Olympiad competitions in March, and we wish them the best of luck!
