Year 11 Drama Students Inspired by Magical Production of My Neighbour Totoro
Year 11 drama students enjoyed an enchanting visit to the Gillian Lynne Theatre to see My Neighbour Totoro, the award-winning stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s beloved 1988 animated film.
Following the performance, George (Year 11) reflected on the experience:
“Myself and all my drama peers took a wonderful trip to the Gillian Lynne Theatre to see a spectacular performance of the play My Neighbour Totoro. The heartwarming piece put smiles on our faces amongst jaw dropping puppetry that put Christian’s and my Scrooge puppet to shame. The acting was masterful and really caught all our attention, whilst the set was certainly something to behold. It was a truly magical night which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
The production’s imaginative design, extraordinary puppetry and moving performances offered students not only an unforgettable evening, but also rich inspiration for their own creative work.
