Year 7 STEM Experience at Williams Racing HQ
Following an action-packed STEM Week, a group of Year 7 students took part in a STEM experience at Williams Racing Headquarters. They were challenged to work together to create the most effective model nose cone that would crumple to ensure the safety of the driver. Working within a strict budget, they sourced materials for both prototype testing and their final design.
They all considered their test designs carefully, making improvements before presenting their findings to the wider group. The winning team was selected based on their final score, improvement in their designs following testing and their presentation skills.
In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to race against one another on simulators, learn about the impressive history of Frank Williams and the team he built, and explore the heritage museum.
