Guys & Dolls in Concert at the Antony Barnard Theatre
The characters and songs of the famed musical Guys & Dolls were brought to life in the Antony Barnard Theatre on Friday night in a superb concert performance. Unlike a fully staged production, this concert version placed the music and storytelling that are at the heart of the show front and centre, in a fascinating highlight.
A live student band, conducted by Ms Bryans and featuring Mr Johns on piano, delivered the well-known score. At the front of the stage, student singer-actors performed key dialogue and musical numbers, capturing the humour and charm of the original while keeping the focus on the music.
