Eltham College Year 10 Students Support Guide Dogs Visit at Blackheath Prep
During a recent visit to Blackheath Prep, Eltham College Year 10 students lent a hand at a special Guide Dogs event. Blackheath Prep regularly supports a number of charities, including Guide Dogs, and the visit gave pupils the chance to learn more about the organisation and the important work it does.
The event was a hit with pupils, who were delighted to meet the dogs and their trainers and learn how the dogs are prepared for their future roles. There was plenty of excitement as pupils had the opportunity to interact with the dogs, ask questions and take part in activities designed to explain training in a fun and accessible way.
A dog‑themed obstacle course, designed and run by the Eltham students, proved especially popular with pupils. The Year 10s guided children from Reception through to Year 6 around the course, cheering them on, explaining each challenge and keeping the energy high throughout. With plenty of enthusiasm, excellent leadership skills (and patience), the students helped create a fun, lively atmosphere that had Prep pupils fully engaged from start to finish.
