Outstanding Range and Musicianship in Summer Ensembles Concert
This year’s Summer Ensembles Concert brought together a wide array of Eltham’s large and small ensembles for an evening of performance. Bathed in warm summer sunshine, parents and guests enjoyed drinks in the Quad both before the concert and during the interval.
The programme offered an impressive breadth of repertoire, ranging from a cappella vocal works to a powerful rendition of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite by the Concert Band.
Director of Music, Mr Johns, praised the performers, noting the “really impressive level of performance, including the longest pieces that Symphonic Winds and Philharmonia have performed to date, and our top flute ensemble performing unconducted”.
