Mental Health Awareness Week

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Year 7 and Year 8 students have been using their Wellbeing lessons to explore ways to support their mental wellbeing and promote positive mental health.

Year 7 students have been focusing on managing their mental health during examination periods, as the school approaches exam week. This has included reflecting on their own behaviour and considering how they respond to times of stress, including both emotional and physical reactions. Students have also learned mindfulness techniques to help manage strong emotions, particularly the use of mindful breathing to promote a sense of calm.

In Year 8, students have been exploring the importance of relationships in supporting mental wellbeing and learning strategies to build resilience when coping with challenging situations.
