Lower School Perform The Tinderbox & Other Tales
Congratulations to our Lower School students, who this week performed The Tinderbox & Other Tales, a stage adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s stories by Toby Hulse.
Staged in the round, the production placed the audience on all sides of the action, creating a varied viewing experience and encouraging students to engage with a new style of performance. Director in Residence Miss Carter commented that “the students were completely unfazed and quickly absorbed the ‘theatrical rules’ with great understanding and maturity”.
Sebastian (Year 7) reflected on his experience: “Being in the lower school production has been a real highlight of my school year. It’s been great to make new friends, learn new skills and play the scholar, which has been a really fun role, in a fabulously dark story.”
