Year 9 German Students Lead Language Lesson at Blackheath Prep
A group of eight Year 9 German students from Eltham College visited Blackheath Prep on Thursday to support Ms Laeverenz in teaching her two Year 5 German classes.
Taking advantage of the warm weather, the lesson was held outdoors beneath the shade of a tree. The Eltham students delivered meticulously prepared, interactive lessons on items of food and took part in all activities. All were so impressed with Year 9’s planning, confidence, and how they engaged the students, and with Year 5’s welcome, enthusiasm and excellent German skills. It was a really enjoyable afternoon for students in both schools, and everyone learnt a lot – both about teaching and the language!
