Exploring Languages at University
Year 10 and Lower Sixth linguists were delighted this week to meet Isadora Watson, a third-year student of German and French at Cambridge University. She spoke to our Modern and Classical Languages Society and visited Year 10 language lessons to talk about her language learning experience at school and university, and her year abroad in Berlin. Her excellent talks highlighted just how important languages skills are for many career paths, and how fulfilling and rewarding studying languages at university can be. Students also learnt a little about the considerable number of options on offer at university, where it is possible to combine studying a language with so many other subjects that students may be interested in, such as Law, Economics, the Sciences as well as ab initio languages they may not have previously had the opportunity to learn.
Our thanks to Isadora for giving so generously of her time.
