Oxford Competition Success for Modern Languages

We are delighted to celebrate success in two University of Oxford language competitions.

The Anthea Bell Competition attracts entries from students across the country and provides an opportunity for young linguists to apply their language skills to produce an English translation of a poem or prose extract from a language they are studying. Many congratulations to Gabriella (Year 7), George (Year 8) and Avni (Year 9) for their excellent entries in this year’s competition.

Congratulations also to Ayaan (Lower Sixth), whose German-language entry to the University of Oxford’s Flash Fiction Competition, consisting of a 100-word story, was highly commended.

These competitions provide an opportunity for students to apply their language skills beyond the classroom. Congratulations to all students involved for these fantastic accomplishments.
