Year 7 Build Excellent Teams

Our new Year 7 pupils spent Friday morning taking part in a series of team-building activities designed to help them get to know one another and settle into life at the Senior School.

With wet weather keeping everyone indoors at the start of the day, pupils worked in groups to complete a range of practical challenges and problem-solving tasks. These included engineering-style activities such as building bridges from spaghetti and working together to stack cups using only strings.

Once the weather improved, pupils headed out onto the fields for a number of inter-house competitions. Houses competed against one another in a game of capture the flag before taking part in a challenge to see who could most effectively arrange themselves to spell out their house name. Livingstone emerged victorious, impressing the judges by creating their display in three dimensions while keeping it readable, despite having the longest name to spell.

The morning was supported by members of the Upper Sixth and the Heads of House, who helped organise and run the activities. It provided a valuable opportunity for Year 7 pupils to learn each other’s names, get to know their houses and meet some of the older pupils who will play an important role in school life throughout the year.
