Year 4 Musicians Showcase Remarkable Progress in Music Alive Concert
Just four weeks after picking up their instruments, Year 4 students took to the stage in the RMH to give a concert for parents, demonstrating how much they had already achieved in a short space of time.
The performance offered families a chance to see the early stages of the pupils’ musical development, as the Year 4 students confidently shared the skills they have been working on since the project began.
Among those in attendance was Director of Music for the Senior School, Mr Johns, who spoke about the importance of occasions such as these and the promise shown by the young musicians.
He said: “I always enjoy coming to these concerts because this is where it all starts. It’s an opportunity to see the future of music in the Senior School, and I’m smiling because the future is looking bright.”
The audience was also treated to an unexpected performance from Year 7 student Maya. Having attended simply to watch the concert, Maya was invited by Mr Johns to perform an impromptu solo for parents and pupils.
Her performance provided a valuable illustration of what can be achieved through continued dedication and practice, showing Year 4 students what their own musical progress could look like in just three years’ time.
Well done to all the Year 4 students for a confident and enjoyable performance.
