German Careers Roadshow Inspires Year 11 Pupils

Six Year 11 pupils studying German recently attended the German Careers Roadshow at the Goethe-Institut in London, where they explored the many opportunities that learning German and other languages can offer.

During the event, the group heard from representatives of the University of Cambridge about studying German and other modern languages at university. They also learned about the opportunities available through a funded Year Abroad in Germany, gaining valuable insight into the academic and professional pathways that language skills can support.

Pupils were particularly inspired by Bernadette Holmes MBE, who spoke passionately about the importance of language skills in today’s globalised world. She highlighted how linguistic and intercultural skills can open doors to a wide range of careers and international opportunities.

The visit was very informative and reinforced the value of studying languages beyond the classroom, encouraging pupils to consider the many benefits that language learning can bring to their future studies and careers.
