Celebrating Pi Day with House Challenge
In honour of Pi Day (14 March), students at Eltham took part in an inter-house competition to see who could recite the most digits of the mathematical constant π (Pi) from memory. The challenge drew impressive participation across all year groups, with students pushing their recall skills to the limit.
Carey House emerged as the overall winners, achieving a cumulative total of 754 digits recited by their entrants. Their victory was driven by an extraordinary individual performance from Thomas (Year 10) and his incredible feat of memory to produce 404 digits single-handedly which secured first place in the individual category.
An honourable mention also goes to Sebastien (Year 9), whose impressive recital of 354 digits made him another standout performer of the day.
