All Roads Can Lead to Law
This week, some of the aspiring lawyers in the Lower Sixth enjoyed a presentation by Deborah Crowley, Associate Professor and non-practising Solicitor at the University of Law, Bloomsbury Campus.
Entitled Getting into a Career in Law, Professor Crowley outlined the various possible routes into the legal profession. Initially exploring the different roles of solicitor and barrister, the students then considered the merits of studying law as an undergraduate or taking another subject before converting to law. They also examined the value of degree apprenticeships and the challenges and nature of the SQE.
Drawing on her experience as a legal professional alongside her current role teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, Professor Crowley was able to share valuable insights and provide advice on the next steps in the students’ journeys.
It was an excellent session, which the students found extremely valuable.
