Year 6 Explore DT in Transition Activities
Year 6 pupils are taking part in a series of transition activities this half term to help them become more familiar with the Senior School’s facilities.
This week, they visited the Design and Technology department, where they were introduced to what they will be studying in Year 7, including projects such as designing and making tote bags. During the session, pupils began to explore computer-aided design (CAD), experimenting with their own ideas to learn how the software works. The highlight of the session was getting the opportunity to use the laser cutter to bring their designs to life.
Upcoming transition activities will include a visit to the Mervyn Peake Library, helping pupils continue to build confidence and familiarity ahead of their move into the Senior School.
