Students Put Ecology Skills into Practice at High Elms Country Park
Year 9 students recently enjoyed a hands-on Ecology Day at High Elms Country Park, combining fieldwork with classroom learning to deepen their understanding of ecosystems and biodiversity.
Using quadrats to sample vegetation, pupils investigated plant diversity across a range of habitats, collecting and analysing data to identify patterns in species distribution and abundance. The practical work gave students the opportunity to apply key scientific skills in a real-world setting, developing their confidence in data collection, observation and analysis.
