Year 12 Biologists Visit High Elms Country Park

Year 12 Biology students visited High Elms Country Park to develop their ecological fieldwork skills through a range of practical investigations.

During the visit, students designed and carried out field investigations to examine the effects of named abiotic factors on species abundance and distribution. They explored a variety of habitats, including ponds and meadows, collecting primary data through activities such as pond dipping and insect sampling.

The trip provided students with valuable experience of ecological sampling techniques and fieldwork methods, supporting their understanding of key topics within the Biology curriculum.
