Artist-in-Residence Rob Lye Shares Arctic Adventure with Students
Students recently had the opportunity to hear from Artist-in-Residence Rob Lye, who delivered a fascinating talk about his recent expedition to the Arctic Circle and the creative work it inspired.
Rob is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice combines moving image, ambisonic sound, sculpture and installation. Much of his work explores ecological themes and humanity’s relationship with the natural world, making the Arctic a particularly compelling environment for artistic exploration.
During the talk, Rob shared stories from his journey and explained how he documented the landscapes, wildlife and changing environment through film and sound recording. He also gave students an insight into his creative process, showing footage captured during the expedition and discussing how these materials are transformed into artworks.
