Further Girls’ Success Caps a Record-Breaking Athletics Season

Another trophy has capped an outstanding athletics season for the girls, marking a truly memorable term of achievement and progression. Building on their earlier Cambridge Cup success, the Year 8 girls secured a historic victory at the Greenwich Borough Championships—the first time the school has claimed the title.

The wider squad also delivered impressive performances across the day at Sutcliffe Park, with both the Year 7 and Year 10 teams finishing as runners-up in a highly competitive field. In total, 18 schools competed in what is widely regarded as one of London’s strongest athletics boroughs, highlighting the significance of these results.

Individual excellence shone through across multiple events. Gold medals were earned by Jenny (Year 10) in the 100m, Petra (Year 6) in the 300m, Alice (Year 7) and Odette (Year 8) in the 800m, and Eliza-Grace (Year 7) in the hurdles. The Year 8 4x100m relay team also delivered an outstanding performance to secure first place.

These achievements represent a fitting conclusion to a remarkable term of athletics, defined by both team success and individual brilliance.
