Maths Challenge Triumphs from Years 3 to 6
Five Year 6 pupils took on the prestigious Junior Kangaroo Maths Challenge this year, competing alongside their Senior School peers in a competition designed for pupils in Year 8 and below.
Despite being among the youngest participants, our Year 6 mathematicians performed exceptionally well, achieving two Bronze awards and one Gold award. Congratulations to Amelia and Sophia on their Bronze awards, and to Rehaan, who achieved an outstanding Gold award with a score of 124 out of 135.
We are incredibly proud of all five pupils for representing the Junior School so successfully and congratulate them on this impressive achievement.
Earlier this month, all pupils in Years 3 and 4 took part in the First Maths Challenge, a fun and age-appropriate introduction to mathematical competitions run by the same organisation that delivers the Primary Maths Challenge for Years 5 and 6.
Pupils tackled 20 unfamiliar problem-solving questions, requiring them to apply their mathematical knowledge, reasoning and logical thinking in new and engaging ways. We are delighted that 53 pupils achieved a certificate by answering at least 15 questions correctly. A special congratulations goes to Louise (Year 4), who achieved full marks, and to the nine other pupils who were awarded Gold certificates for scoring an impressive 19 out of 20.
Well done to all.
