On Wednesday 26th February, sixteen Year 12 Geography students visited the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington for this term’s Sixth Form evening lecture. Arriving early, they had the chance to take a group photo in the historic lecture theatre before settling in for the talk.
The lecture, delivered by Professor James Cheshire, explored the importance of maps and provided a fascinating insight beyond the curriculum. It was fantastic to see such a large group attend the optional lecture, especially with their Bristol residential trip coming up this weekend.
A special mention goes to a group of students who attended the lecture and have also earned a place in the final of this year’s Geological Society competition with their brilliant Story Map – a digital geographic website they created.
Well done to our Sixth Form Geographers!
