House System
Junior School
At Eltham College, the House system embodies a sense of belonging and camaraderie, fostering a deep connection between students and their respective Houses, which are regarded as their second home within the College community. The pride and passion students have for their House is a testament to the strong bond they share.
Upon enrolment, each student becomes an integral part of one of our four Houses, each named after our founding missionaries – Carey (blue), Chalmers (red), Moffat (yellow), and Livingstone (green) – reflecting the school’s rich heritage. This House affiliation becomes an essential aspect of a student’s identity, contributing to a supportive and nurturing environment throughout their time at Eltham College.
Our House system serves as a catalyst for healthy competition, encouraging students to actively engage in a diverse array of year-round events including academics, athletics, and the arts. This spirited competition not only fosters a sense of teamwork and unity within each House but also cultivates leadership skills and a strong sense of sportsmanship among our our students.
