Next week a team of Year 12 students led by our Chaplain Jim Houghton will be undertaking the challenge of the Welsh 3 Peaks to raise money for International Needs in Uganda.

Having successfully supported the village of Kinoni Central to improve their water, sanitation, and hygiene education, practice, and facilities, we are about to embark on the second phase of our commitment to helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Collectively we can help to make a difference for those in need – from a makeshift screen offering little privacy we have helped to raise funds for this to be changed, with many new toilet and washing facilities being constructed, which has had a significant impact on the lives of the people affected. The money solely raised from Eltham College has made that happen.

Our aim in the next 2 years is to raise another £25,000 to support another village to overcome the challenges of poor sanitation and hygiene. Through education and training on implementing and sustaining good practice, more families and communities can look forward to a more positive future including fewer cases of waterborne diseases therefore improving the health of all.
