Last week, during the Junior School assembly, our pupils learned about the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. Guided by nutritionist Pirianka Louis-Montfort, they explored the nutritional value of different foods and the crucial role nutrients play in nurturing young, growing bodies. The session highlighted the countless benefits of consuming a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables.
After the assembly, Year 3 pupils participated in an interactive healthy eating workshop. This workshop covered the basics of sugar, including the differences between natural and ‘free’ sugars, and stressed the importance of good dental health. To wrap up the workshop on a fun note, our pupils enjoyed a refreshing smoothie made of carrot, apple & rhubarb from the Junior School garden, a great example of a hydrating drink with natural sugars and essential vitamins.
