Junior School Curriculum

The Year 6 curriculum at Eltham College Junior School covers all the subjects, English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art and design, music, physical education, computing, and modern foreign languages.

As our pupils progress to Year 6 at Eltham College Junior School, on this year they encounter a curriculum designed to consolidate their learning while fostering increased independence and critical thinking across a diverse range of subjects.

The comprehensive Year 6 curriculum encompasses an array of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, Physical Education, Computing, and Modern Foreign Languages. Building upon the solid groundwork established in preceding years, this year marks a pivotal stage where students embark on a more dynamic and immersive learning journey.

This year’s curriculum places a heightened emphasis on problem-solving and independent learning. Subjects such as History, Geography, and Modern Foreign Languages are explored in greater depth, encouraging students to delve into complex concepts and broader perspectives. On Monday, 20th May, our school community gathered for the final Very Informal Strings Concert of the year, an event that showcased the talent of our pupils.
Over the weekend, several Eltham College students participated in the Kent Ski Championship held at Chatham Ski Centre.
